Kyle Bye
President
Kyle is a Third Year student at the University of Virginia from southern New Jersey (Egg Harbor Township). He is majoring in Commerce and after school hopes to launch his own business venture. His fields of interest lie in technology, community service, and global sustainability. On grounds, he is also involved with an organization called Students in Free Enterprise and the Virginia Club Table Tennis team. Kyle enjoys hiking in the U.S. National Parks and playing competitive volleyball.
Alex Mohr
Vice President of Marketing
Alex is a second year student at the University of Virginia from Leesburg, VA. He is planning to major in Commerce and wishes to further his involvement in entrepreneurial endeavors. He enjoys both culinary and fitness related activities and hopes to establish a business that can combine these two passions. Alex is also currently involved with a research firm in Vienna, VA.
Uzair Minhas
Vice President of Finance
Uzair is a third-year student at the University of Virginia from Vienna, VA. He is majoring in Commerce and is interested in meeting entrepreneurs who share a similar passion for start-ups, competition, new technology, and social media. On grounds, he is involved in Phi Sigma Pi National Honor Fraternity and the Outdoors Club. In his free time he enjoys graphic design, rock climbing, and playing basketball.
Joseph Linzon
Vice President of Operations
Joseph is a second year student at the University of Virginia from Toronto, Canada. He is planning to major in Commerce and is impassioned to explore the social side of entrepreneurship. Joseph is the winner of the Social Entrepreneurship Track and runner up in the UVA Entrepreneurship Cup after pitching his invention PowerSole, a shoe that creates electricity with each step. With ideas like PowerSole, he hopes use social entrepreneurship as a means to help better the lives of individuals in developing countries. During his free time Joseph loves to golf, play baseball, and volunteer for Madison House.
Matt Voda
Vice President of Business Development
Matt is a third year student from New Jersey studying Information Technology and Marketing. He started a neon sign company with a friend this past summer, while also interning at a small ad agency and Merrill Lynch. Matt recently won the Glenn D. Kirwin scholarship, awarded for entrepreneurship and creativity, among other qualities. He is currently working on an attachment for surfboards and hopes to have a working prototype by summer 2013. During his free time, Matt enjoys movies, rugby, and hiking.
Ryan Ho
Vice President of Relations
Ryan is a third year student at the University of Virginia from Singapore. He is majoring in Commerce with concentrations in Finance and IT. Since graduating from high school, Ryan has co-founded several start-ups, including an online t-shirt website and a private tutoring company in Singapore. He was previously a player in the Singapore national soccer team and was featured in SEGA’s popular Football Manager PC game as a player. Ryan is currently learning to be a code monkey. He also enjoys photography and jazz music.
Rachel Smith
Bryan Graney
Bryan is a third year student at the University of Virginia from the suburbs of Philadelphia, PA. He is majoring in Mechanical Engineering with minors in Aerospace Engineering and Engineering Business. His interest in entrepreneurship sparked from a class taken in the E-School, and he hopes to help expand the entrepreneurial presence there. On Grounds, he is also involved in the Cavalier Marching Band, Residence Life, and the Phi Sigma Pi National Honor Fraternity. In his free time, Bryan enjoys golf, hiking, meeting new people, and staying current on the latest STEM field advances.
Nik Philipsen
Nik is a third year student originally from Richmond. He co-founded The City Swig, a mobile and web platform for discovering the best nightlife deals, with 25,000 users in Charlottesville, Blacksburg, and Richmond. Nik is majoring in Systems Engineering, with an application focus in human factors systems, and minoring in Computer Science. He is also a member of the Entrepreneurship and Innovations Committee of Student Council at UVa.
